What is Rheumatoid Arthritis ?

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the joints, resulting in inflammation, pain, swelling, and stiffness. If left untreated, it can cause joint damage, deformity, and loss of function over time.

This disease doesn’t only impact older adults; many people, like myself, are diagnosed in their 30s, with women being particularly affected.

Early diagnosis is crucial to slowing the disease's progression. Although there is no cure, treatments such as medications, physical therapy, lifestyle adjustments, and, in severe cases, surgery can effectively manage symptoms and help preserve joint function.
